Contoocook River Canoe Co. offers a range of instructional ACA courses from beginner to advanced skills. Our courses cover kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards (SUPs).
Our Classes run rain or shine. If we encounter thunder and lightning we will pull off the water and wait the storm out. We have a covered screen porch at the water.

- June 16 - Introduction to Kayaking Course 9:00am to 3:00 PM (on the Contoocook River)

July
- July 14 - 5-hour Rolling & Rescue Clinic. 2-hours Rolling and 3 hours Rescue Clinic 10:00am to 4:00pm (Rolf Park Pool and Contoocook River)
- July 28 - Introduction to Kayaking Course 9:00am to 3:00pm (on the Contoocook River)
- Every Thursday - Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding 5:30-7:00 PM (By appointment, includes rental)
August
- August 11 - Introduction to Kayaking Course 9:00am to 3:00pm (on the Contoocook River)

- No Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding classes.
Course Prices
6-hour Introduction to Kayaking Course held on the Contoocook River - $100.00 per paddler.
5-hour Rolling Clinic and Rescue Clinic held in the Rolf Park Pool and on the Contoocook River - $125.00 per paddler.
Thursday evening Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding on the Contoocook River - $30.00 per paddler
Rentals
If you need to rent a kayak with PFD and paddle add $25.00 to the course price. The instructional kayaks are touring or sea kayaks.
Ratio
Our student to instructor ratio is 6 to 1. The maximum number of paddlers in a course is 12. Once over 6 paddlers, a second kayak instructor will be added to the course. We require 4 students to run a course.

Course Gear Checklist:
- Kayak
- Paddle
- PFD / Life Jacket
- Kayak / Canoe (if you are not renting)
- Your lunch
- Water
- Change of cloths
- Towel
- Bug spray
- Sun block
- Water shoes
- Tee shirt (wicking if possible)
- Sunglasses / Hat with lanyard
- If you are taking the rolling / Rescue Clinic you need a skirt for you kayak.
You WILL be getting wet so you will want to have a bathing suit on. If you like you can wear a pair shorts and a tee shirt over your bathing suit, wicking materials are best.
